Far From Men directed by David Oelhoffen (France) 2014 expands on a short story by Albert Camus to encompass difficult personal decisions that must be made during times of violent political turmoil.
A schoolteacher in a remote Algerian outpost is ordered to deliver a native accused of murder to colonial authorities. Traveling through the rugged landscape and caught up in the impending uprising, the two men learn more about their respective backgrounds and discover a common humanity.
